Privacy Policy

Secure Home Base ("the App," "we," "our") is a personal document and household management app. This policy explains what information the App handles and how it's used. We built the App to keep your family's documents and information private and under your control.

Information Stored in the App

The App lets you store information about your household, including:

This information is stored locally on your device. The App does not upload your documents, photos, or family member data to our servers or any third party. The App does not connect to the internet or make any network requests. Data you enter stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself, e.g. via the PDF export feature.

Document Scanning

The App's scan feature uses on-device text recognition to help auto-fill document fields (such as document numbers and expiration dates). This processing happens entirely on your device — scanned images and recognized text are not sent to us or any external service for this feature.

Camera

The App requests access to your device's camera so you can scan physical documents, such as warranties, receipts, and IDs, and automatically extract details like dates instead of typing them in manually. The App also requests camera access so you can take or update a profile picture for a family member. In both cases, photos taken with the camera are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.

Photo Library

The App requests access to your photo library so you can attach existing photos of receipts, warranties, or IDs to your records, or choose an existing photo as a family member's profile picture, as an alternative to using the camera. These photos remain stored locally on your device.

Face ID

The App can use Face ID (or your device passcode as a fallback) to lock and unlock your document vault. Face ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS on your device — the App never receives, stores, or has access to any biometric data.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications directly on your device to alert you before documents, warranties, or maintenance items expire. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device — no notification data, tokens, or content is sent to or stored by us or any third party.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App does not use any analytics, crash reporting, or third-party tracking services. We do not collect technical usage data, device identifiers, or diagnostic information of any kind.

Data You Control

Children's Information

The App may be used to store information about family members, including children, at the discretion of the parent or guardian using the App. This information is stored on the device as described above and is not transmitted to us.
